Omniscient Desktop terms of service
Last updated: 17 October 2026.
1. Scope and provider
These terms cover the Omniscient desktop application for macOS and Windows and its related support services (the App), provided by Stellaxis OÜ, Ahtri 12, 10151 Tallinn, Estonia. Contact hello@omniscient-app.com. By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you use the App on behalf of an organisation, you must have authority to accept these terms for it.
2. Licence and ownership
Subject to these terms and any applicable licence or plan conditions disclosed when you obtain access, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on supported devices. Stellaxis OÜ and its licensors retain ownership of the App and its branding. You retain ownership of your imported media, projects, and exported content; these terms do not transfer ownership of that content to us.
Professional and commercial use of the App is authorised, including use for paid client projects, films, visual effects, and other commercial productions, subject to these terms and the applicable licence or plan conditions disclosed when you obtain access. You may use the outputs you create in those productions, provided you hold the necessary rights to the source content. This permission does not authorise redistribution or resale of the App itself.
Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licences, available through the App's Open-source Licensing menu. These terms do not restrict rights granted by those licences or applicable law.
3. Acceptable use
Use only content you are entitled to process and share. Do not use the App unlawfully, infringe others' rights, interfere with security, bypass access controls, or redistribute the App without permission. Restrictions on copying, modification, reverse engineering, and source-code extraction apply only to the extent permitted by law and the relevant component licences.
4. Compatibility, processing, and backups
The App processes recordings and camera data to produce synchronised views and camera movement outputs. Results depend on your recordings, device compatibility, calibration, and other input conditions. Check outputs before relying on them in production and maintain independent backups of source files and projects. Supported systems and feature requirements are described in our documentation.
5. Paid access
If a feature requires payment or a subscription, the applicable offer and checkout describe its price, scope, duration, and billing terms before purchase. These terms do not create a subscription or authorise an undisclosed charge. Purchases through our website are also subject to the website and web subscription terms and refund policy; purchases through other providers are subject to their applicable transaction terms. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
6. Support, privacy, and feedback
Support is provided as available. Submit only content you are entitled to share. You retain ownership of submitted content and permit us to use it to investigate and answer your request. Personal data is handled as described in our Desktop Privacy Policy, shared by macOS and Windows.
You may voluntarily provide feedback. We may use it to improve the App without an obligation to compensate you; this does not transfer ownership of your projects or media.
7. Updates and availability
We may provide updates to improve functionality, compatibility, or security. Some features depend on compatible versions or online services. We will provide notice of material changes where required and respect applicable obligations relating to updates, existing purchases, and digital products. Public use under these terms does not impose the former closed-beta confidentiality or non-disclosure restrictions.
Periodic internet access is required. Although project processing takes place locally, the App validates its release at startup and periodically while running. The current default refresh interval is six hours. After successful online validation, cached validation normally supports offline use for up to 72 hours, with an additional grace period of up to 24 hours. These are configurable limits, not a guarantee of 96 hours of offline use: expiry of the signed release policy or its verification information can shorten the available period.
The App may prevent startup or continued use when no valid validation is available, the offline and grace periods have expired, the build has been disabled, or a mandatory update is required. A system-clock anomaly can also require a fresh online validation. Some minimum-version restrictions instead place the App in a restricted mode that preserves reading and exporting while blocking other actions until a compatible update and validation are available. An internet or validation-service outage can therefore interrupt use once cached validation is no longer usable.
Before work without internet access, launch the App online to refresh validation and allow time for any required update. Do not rely on indefinite offline operation. These technical restrictions do not remove mandatory rights or remedies relating to an existing purchase.
8. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, accuracy of every processing result, or fitness for a particular production requirement. Errors, interruptions, incompatibilities, and loss or corruption of data may occur. You should maintain independent backups and check synchronisation, camera tracking, and exported outputs before relying on them in a production or delivering them to a client.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Stellaxis OÜ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the App or its outputs. These may include lost profits or revenue, business interruption, missed delivery deadlines, lost business opportunities, loss or corruption of data, and additional production, reprocessing, or reshoot costs, where those losses are indirect or consequential. This exclusion applies even if we have been advised that such losses could occur.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights, applicable statutory warranties, and remedies for defective digital products remain unaffected. The exclusions above apply only to the extent they are lawful in your circumstances; they do not mean that we have no responsibility for defects or breaches of our obligations.
9. Ending use
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms or where required by law, subject to applicable notice and remedy requirements. When your licence ends, stop using and remove the App. This does not transfer ownership of your content or remove rights and remedies relating to existing purchases.
10. Changes and disputes
We will publish changes on this page and provide additional notice where required. Changes do not remove mandatory rights or rights relating to an existing purchase. These terms are governed by Estonian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings in courts available under applicable law.
11. Complaints and consumer dispute resolution
Send complaints to hello@omniscient-app.com or write to Stellaxis OÜ, Ahtri 12, 10151 Tallinn, Estonia. Describe the problem and the remedy you seek, and include your app version and relevant purchase reference if available. Do not send original media or other sensitive files unless needed and agreed through support.
For consumer complaints subject to Estonian consumer-protection requirements, we will respond in writing within 15 days of receipt, explaining our proposed resolution. If we cannot resolve the complaint within that period, we will explain the reason for the delay and give a new reasonable response deadline. This response period is not a promise that every technical issue will be fixed within 15 days.
If we cannot resolve a consumer dispute, a consumer resident in Estonia may refer an eligible dispute with Stellaxis OÜ to the independent Consumer Disputes Committee operating at Estonia's Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA). The Committee's website explains its jurisdiction and how to apply; you should first submit your complaint to us. Consumers elsewhere in the EU or EEA may seek cross-border assistance from their local European Consumer Centre, where eligible. These consumer procedures do not generally cover disputes arising from professional or business purchases.
Nothing in this procedure prevents you from seeking remedies from a competent court or exercising other rights available under applicable law.
